TEMPORARY OFF-LEASH DOG PARKS
Temporary off-leash dog parks pilot project – coming soon!
In response to resident feedback about safety and access concerns at the existing off-leash dog park south of Sleepy Hollow Road, we are piloting three alternative locations. The current site is also located on the Trans Mountain Pipeline right of way, and Trans Mountain has provided funding to support its relocation.

▪️ You will need to bring water for your pet.
▪️ Regular off-leash dog park rules apply.

Where is the Off-Leash Dog Park?
The Municipality of Jasper off-leash dog park can be found at the intersection of Sleepy Hollow Road and Hazel Avenue opposite the RV Public Parking Lot and Home Hardware.

Animal Licensing
If you are a resident of Jasper all dogs and cats must have a pet license.
Licences may be purchased at:
Municipality of Jasper Town Office,
303 Pyramid Lake Road
Hours: 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. *Closed from 12 to 1:00 pm for lunch.
You will be issued a tag that must be attached to your pet’s collar once your payment and pet registration information has been received.
Pet licences expire December 31 and must be renewed before January 1 each year.
Licence Fee for Dogs & Cats
- Spayed or neutered dog, or dog under six months of age (certificate required) $30
- Spayed or neutered cat, or cat under six months of age (certificate required) $15
- Unaltered dog over six months $105
- Unaltered cat over six months $100
Other Fees
- Replacement tag $10.
- Failure to obtain a license $100.
- Allowing a pet to run at large $50 1st offence; $75 2nd offence; $100 3rd offence.
- Impound fee:
- Upon impoundment - $20.
- Each day subsequent to impoundment - $10.
Licensing has its benefits
While impound fees may still apply, a guardian of a licensed pet may be eligible for one fine exemption per year if their pet is picked up by the Bylaw Enforcement Service. This is a savings of up to $70.
Your pet license also includes your Municipality of Jasper pet tag which helps increase the likelihood that if your pet is wearing it when it gets out it will be reunited with you.
Your Responsibilities as a Pet Owner
- All dogs and cats require an annual licence.
- Clean up after your dog. Scoop the poop!
- Dogs must be kept on a leash.
- Excessive barking or howling can be annoying and is considered a public nuisance.

I've Lost My Pet
If you lost your pet, it may have been picked up by the Bylaw Enforcement Service.
Call 780-852-5514 as soon as you notice your pet is missing. We will need your name, contact details, and your pet’s name and description, as well as any other information you think might be helpful.
If you call after hours, please leave a message and we will return your call in the morning. If your pet is wearing its licence tag, we will attempt to contact you so that we can get it home to you as soon as possible.
I Found a Dog or Cat
If you have found a pet, notify the Bylaw Enforcement Service by calling 780-852-5514 and we will arrange to pick it up. If you call after hours, please leave a message and we will return your call in the morning.
